The 1950s-1990s
Paper. Lots of paper. Business was good.
The Story of a Great Paper Company (Or How We've Survived Since 1949)
Founded in 1949 by Robert Dunder and Robert Mifflin, Dunder Mifflin has become one of the premier office supply companies in the Northeast.
Paper. Lots of paper. Business was good.
The internet arrives. Everyone panics. "Paper is dead!" they say. Spoiler alert: we're still here.
We adapt, we innovate, we survive. Mainly because people keep using paper. Thanks, printers.
Our Scranton branch is the crown jewel of the Dunder Mifflin network. We're not just saying that because all the other branches closed. It's an objective fact.
Some Impressive Numbers:
15+ dedicated employees
2 parking lots (with assigned spaces - do NOT park in Angela's spot)
1 conference room (often occupied by "important meetings")
473,858 reams of paper sold in 2023*
*Approximate figure. Kelly was supposed to count but she gave up.
Meet the dedicated professionals who make Dunder Mifflin Scranton the crown jewel of the paper industry. We're not just coworkers - we're a family. A slightly dysfunctional, occasionally chaotic, but ultimately lovable family.
Regional Manager
The heart and soul of Dunder Mifflin Scranton. Michael eats, sleeps, and breathes paper. He's also our "World's Best Boss" (according to his mug).
Assistant (to the) Regional Manager
Paper expert, beet farmer, and martial arts enthusiast. If you have a question about paper, Dwight has the answer. If you don't want the answer, ask anyway - he'll give it to you.
Sales Representative
Talented salesman who excels at the art of... selling paper. And other important things.
Receptionist
The first person you meet when you arrive. Also an artist, event planner, and keeper of the reception desk candy.
Sales Representative
He's been selling paper for 20 years. He knows all the tricks. Don't bother him on Friday - it's Pretzel Day.
Sales Representative
Sweet, kind, and capable of selling you 50 cases of paper before you realize what happened.
Accountant
In charge of accounting and silently judging everyone. The budget is tight. Very tight. Thank Angela.
Accountant
Numbers. Kevin and numbers. It's complicated. But he makes amazing chili.
Accountant
The only one who truly understands the company's finances. Probably the smartest person in the office.
Quality Assurance
We don't really know what he does. Neither does he. But the paper passes quality control, so it works.
Supplier Relations
In charge of supplier relations. She takes her job very seriously. Very.
The Temp / Various Positions
He went from temp to VP to temp to something else. It's a unique career trajectory.
Customer Service
She LOVES talking to customers. And talking in general. Lots of talking.
Human Resources
He's doing his best. It's not his fault.
Or second. Third at most. We're in the top 5 of our priorities.
We're not afraid to try new things. Like that time Ryan wanted to launch a website. We learn from our mistakes.
We're like a dysfunctional family that spends 40 hours a week together. But with less drama. Well, sometimes.
Our paper doesn't jam in printers. Well, no more than other brands.
Because we're not a soulless machine. We're a team of real people who genuinely care about your paper order.
Are we perfect? No. Are we professional? Most of the time. Do we deliver good paper on time? Absolutely.
And honestly, that's all that matters, right?
